About Chung’s Tae Kwon Do Total Martial Arts Academy
Founded in 1989, Chung’s Tae Kwon Do Total Martial Arts Academy has proudly served our community for over three decades. With over 35 years of tradition, we remain a strong and respected martial arts institution rooted in discipline, respect, and excellence.
Our continued success is built upon the dedication of our certified instructors and Masters, who are committed to providing the highest quality instruction in a supportive and structured environment. At the heart of our academy is Grand Master Chung, a 9th-degree black belt and the academy’s founder and owner. With a lifetime of martial arts experience and a passion for teaching, Grand Master Chung continues to actively lead classes for both children and adults, inspiring the next generation of martial artists with his wisdom, humility, and mastery.

GRAND MASTER E.H. CHUNG
Grand Master began his training in 1961 under the Moo Duk Kwan System, earning his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1962.
As a 6th Degree, he became the Official Instructor of the Korean Army for 2 years. In 1979, Grand Master was invited by the Prime Minister of Peru to teach and train more than 5000 officers and special forces of the Peruvian Military.
THE TAEKWONDO STUDENT OATH
I know what Tae Kwon Do represents, and I will listen and obey my parents, teachers, masters and instructors.
I will demonstrate my Tae Kwon Do discipline in the dojang, my school, and most importantly at home.
I will only use my Tae Kwon Do ability to defend myself, never in an aggressive manner.
I will respect myself, my family, my school, and my country.
I will always try my best in everything I do, including Tae Kwon Do and everything else.

Learn Courtesy
Courtesy refers to showing courtesy to all others in the dojang (training area or school) as well as people you may meet outside of formal Taekwondo training. Included in this tenet is observing correct etiquette and manners at all times.
Build Integrity
Integrity includes not only the general definition of integrity where one is not only able to determine the difference between right and wrong but also being able to stand up for what is ethically correct. Being honest and having strong moral principles is paramount and working hard to be beyond corruption are important aspects of the tenet of integrity.
Practice Perseverance
Perseverance simply refers to the willingness of the Taekwondo student to continue to struggle against all odds to reach their goal. This applies to their Taekwondo training as well as other aspects of their lives.
Practice Self Control
Self control means to have control over your thoughts as well as your actions. Maintaining a pure mind as well as a pure body by keeping your emotions in check, particularly in difficult or trying circumstances.
Exhibit an Indomitable Spirit
Indomitable spirit is difficult to define but generally refers to having the courage to stand up for your beliefs and to stay strong in those beliefs and convictions no matter what the odds against you may be. It also refers to consistently exhibiting a full 100% effort in all that you do inside the dojang (training area) and in life.
